Correspondence publication, updates

Stephanie Blalock’s team at the University of Iowa has completed work on 67 new post-Reconstruction letters and 2 new letters from 1888, and we have now published them in the correspondence section of the Whitman Archive.  We have also corrected a date: the letter from Ellen M. O’Connor to Walt Whitman, originally listed as April 7, 1887, was actually dated August 7, 1887.

Two duplicate Civil War letters have also been removed from the correspondence index, and I have updated the status bar for the Civil War correspondence to reflect our most recent estimate of known letters from this era.
