Correction to letter from Palin H. Sims to Walt Whitman, 17 March 1885

User Sue Ramsey, an expert on this family, notified us that the name of Palin's brother, "Sam," had been mistranscribed as "Lane" (and that our gloss about the possible indentity of Lane was also therefore unnecessary). I have corrected the transcription and altered the notes accordingly.

Correction to Interview of 3 March 1880

Ken pointed out that Whitman's annotation of this interview at the Library of Congress has the author as "Pennypacker" rather than "Pennybacker," as Giantvalley and White have it. Some research confirmed Whitman's spelling, so I've changed the attribution.

I have updated the bibliography of reprints of Whitman’s fiction to reflect the discovery (by Stephanie Blalock) of 17 new reprints.  I have also updated the citation style and fixed a broken link in the introduction to Franklin Evans and “Fortunes of a Country Boy.”

Original of Thomas Proctor Reminiscence Added

I've replaced the contents of med.00627 in the Interviews and Reminiscences section. Until now, this had transcribed the short excerpt printed in the Brooklyn Eagle of 2 April 1898; it now transcribes the original, 11-page reminiscence from The Journal of Hygiene and Herald of Health (February 1898).
