Subject: "Lesson of the Two Symbols" Published

I have published "Lesson of the Two Symbols" in the Poems in Periodicals section of the Archive:
http://whitmanarchive.org/published/periodical/periodical_titles/per.00186

In addition to adding this new page, I updated the headnote about the Subterranean to include a link to the poem as well as to insert a missing quotation mark in the intro paragraph, following "spirit."

Thanks go to Wendy Katz for finding and sharing the image of the Subterranean that allowed us to complete his work.

Headnote for Brother Jonathan updated

I have updated the headnote for Brother Jonathan. The head note originally indicated Brother Jonathan had been established in 1842, but it had actually been established several years earlier in 1839. Archive user Wendy Katz alerted us to this information, and Susan Belasco and Katz completed the revised headnote.

Conditions of Use Page Update

I have updated the Conditions of Use page to be clearer about rights
and the conditions under which the materials are made available. This
language was approved at the annual planning meeting of the Whitman
Archive in summer 2015.

Contemporary Reviews Section Updated

I have updated the Contemporary Reviews section of the Whitman
Archive. All reviews are new encoded in TEI P5, and I have enriched
their metadata to reflect the transcription and encoding histories of
individual files, source information, and rights. In addition,
material in the Reviews section now reflects the Whitman Archive's
evolving approach in metadata display, as well as information on how
to a cite an individual review and a link to the underlying XML/TEI of
each review.

In a subsequent stage of revision, the index pages providing access to
reviews of specific volumes and poems (e.g.,
http://whitmanarchive.org/criticism/reviews/leaves1855/index.html,
http://whitmanarchive.org/criticism/reviews/a_child/index.html) will
be updated. For a short period of time, bibliographic information on
the index pages may differ slightly from information displayed with
each individual review. Information displayed with each review is the
most complete and correct information.
