Corrections made to Drum-Taps

I've made several changes to the volume of Drum-Taps available on the Whitman Archive:

In the transcription of page 31, I have restored the word "river" to the line that begins "Enter the captur'd works"; page 32, restored the dropped line, "An attendant follows, holding a tray--he carries a refuse pail"; page 33 restored the dropped line, "The neck of the cavalry-man, with the bullet through and through, I examine"; page 49, restored the exclamation point after "victorious" in the line beginning, "Sons of the Mother of All!"

Similarly, to the volume of Drum-Taps with Sequel to Drum-Taps, I have restored the word "river" to the line that begins "Enter the captur'd works" and the exclamation point after "victorious" in the line beginning, "Sons of the Mother of All!"

Steve Marsden brought these transcription errors to our attention.

Drum-Taps and Sequel to Drum-Taps now available

Drum-Taps and Sequel to Drum-Taps are now available on the Whitman Archive, via the "Other Books" section. Heidi Bean derived the transcriptions from the 1867 Leaves, copy-edited the text against the volumes of Drum-Taps, and encoded the text. Joshua Ware migrated the encoding to P5 and developed the XSLT for html display. Ashley Lawson proofread the WWA text. The source documents are copies of Drum-Taps and Drum-Taps with Sequel to Drum-Taps held by the University of Iowa Libraries, Special Collections and University Archives.
